Device Permissions & Special Features

Some application ask for administrator permission for its function as screen locking.

Application-Specific Core Permissions (Assistive Touch)

For the Assistive Touch application, specific Android system permissions are utilized strictly for device navigation and quick controls:

  • Display over other apps: Required to show the floating button, shortcut panels, and virtual touchpad above other active apps.
  • Foreground Service (FGS): Runs while Assistive Touch is enabled to keep the floating controls responsive in the background. An ongoing notification indicates active service. On Android 13+, notification permission may be requested.
  • Accessibility Service (Optional): Used solely for user-triggered system actions (Back, Home, Recent apps, Power menu, Lock screen, Split screen), screenshot captures, virtual touchpad operations, and per-app show/hide/dim rules. It receives the foreground application package name only to apply your selected per-app rules. It does not read screen text, keystrokes, or window content. Screenshots are taken exclusively upon explicit user action.
  • Do Not Disturb (DND) Access: Required to toggle mute and unmute sound profiles.

Opt-Out and Managing Your Data

You can revoke granted permissions or disable features at any time via your device Settings:

  • You may revoke overlay, accessibility, notification, or device administrator permissions at any time through Android Settings > Apps > Assistive Touch.
  • You can reset advertising identifiers or opt out of personalized advertisements through Android Settings > Google > Ads.
  • Uninstalling the application immediately ceases all local data handling and background services.
